The fourth MASSIN Congress was organized by Prof. Dr. Eiji Kohmura in September 2013 (4th to 7th) in Kobe, Japan. Participants from Europe, North and South America and Asia had the opportunity to congregate in this very nice port city. Kobe was severely damaged in 1995 by one of Japan's worst earthquake in the 20th century (magnitude 6.8). Notable examples of recovery efforts turned, only five years after the disaster, a devastated city of Kobe in an attractive, unique and highly desirable city to live in. Apart of a high level scientific program the participants had enjoyed social activities and had the opportunity to taste the famous Kobe beef.
